What we Offer


Kirimurê operates in an ample and clean house in which the children in our program spend their afternoons and early evenings.

 

Courses/Objectives:

 

 

Capoeira: To stimulate physical development and recognition of values and ethics translated through capoeira games. As they learn the game of capoeira, its music, history and philosophy, they are developing physical and emotional strength, discovering their roots, and building self-esteem and character.
Age Group: Children and youth ages 4 to 16 years

 
Educational Games and Play Activities: To stimulate the psycho-motor development of children and to promote conscientiousness, teaching the principles needed for living in a community in consideration of human diversity in all its dimensions.
Age Group; Children ages 4 to 6 years

 

Literacy Courses: To stimulate the intellectual development of the child through reading and to promote conscientiousness, teaching the principles needed for living in a community in consideration of human diversity in all its dimensions.
Age Group: Children ages 7 to 10 years.

 

 

In addition to a safe space to practice capoeira and to take the classes we offer, we maintain a small library, offer additional workshops in traditional arts and crafts, orientation about environmental and health education, storytelling, special field trips, and nutritional snacks.
